Since 2015 with the launch of Apple’s first smartwatch, sales in traditional and fashion-styled analog watches have declined year over year. only categories in watches that have shown success since 2015 are Swiss luxury watches and smartwatches. as sales continued to show a steady decline across all brands at Fossil Group, there have been urgent need to stimulate and revive the fashion driven analog watches.
Asia-Pacific region continues to decline in sales. while the bigger “boyfriend” watch trend has shown relative success among women in AMER and EMEA regions in the early 2010’s, females consumers in Asia have always preferred the smaller watch. in an attempt to boost sales in APAC region, a demographic with a consumer base whose purchasing powers rapidly grew in the recent decade, design and create a smaller watch that aligns with Michael Kors iconic Mercer Link jewelry motif.
